St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics has agreed terms with specialist door manufacturer Doors and Joinery Solutions (DJS) and family-run car dealership Midlands Performance Cars Ltd, to expand at the developer’s Albion Gateway site in Burton upon Trent.
DJS has signed for approximately 3,889 sq ft of additional space, meaning the business now occupies a total of four units. Meanwhile, Midlands Performance Cars has agreed a deal for a further 2,865 sq ft of space, taking a total of three units at Albion Gateway.
Albion Gateway is located less than one mile from the A38, with links to the A50 and A511. The scheme provides a range of units between 2,500 sq ft and 20,120 sq ft, complementing the wider development that also includes retail and leisure space.
St. Modwen’s Albion Gateway consists of more than 130,000 sq ft across a 10-acre site and is home to major local occupiers, including: DHL, Screwfix, MKM Building Supplies and Greggs.
Hannah Bryan Williams, Multi-Let Leasing Manager at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said: “Albion Gateway has become a landmark scheme in the area and has significantly benefitted the local economy with employment opportunities for the residents of Burton upon Trent. Doors and Joinery Solutions and Midlands Performance Cars Ltd are a key part of the diverse list of occupiers we have here and I’m sure these expansions will continue to drive interest in the remaining two units (unit 2 and unit 11) of the final phase.”
Adrian Goldsbury, Managing Director at Door and Joinery Solutions, added: “Due to our company requiring advanced technology and in-house finishing processes, we were in need of a flexible logistics building to enable us to expand our production efficiently and we were pleased that St. Modwen was able to cater for us.”
Nick Challener, Company Director at Midlands Performance Cars Ltd, added: “Our company aims to provide its customers with an exceptional personal service when purchasing a car. Therefore, it was essential that we found a space that could accommodate our needs without having to relocate completely and fortunately St. Modwen was able to provide that at Albion Gateway.”
Paul Rushton, Director at Rushton Hickman Limited, added: “The convenient location of Albion Gateway makes the scheme a prime site for firms of all sizes, with only two units remaining, one of 2,884 sq ft and the other 4,308 sq ft. The popularity of the business park has evidenced the growing market demand for high-quality industrial and logistics builds across the UK.”
