Acting on behalf of a Bristol-based property company, Exeter-based surveyors Stratton Creber Commercial have let a large warehouse unit on the Sowton Industrial Estate.
11 Mallard Road is a 12,000 square foot unit which was previously occupied by a supplier of mobility equipment. During lockdown, it was under offer to a national climbing centre operator, who obtained planning consent for their proposed use but subsequently withdrew from this and other deals around the UK, citing uncertainties in the leisure industry with lockdowns.
The property has now been let to an Exeter-based supplier of soft drinks in a move which sees their distribution and logistics move to Devon from Oxfordshire.
Jonathan Ling of Stratton Creber Commercial comments: “The industrial lettings market has remained resilient in the face of all the uncertainties of 2020, and larger distribution warehouses have been in particularly strong demand. This letting follows just days after our letting of another unit on the Sowton Estate of 17,784 square feet, and these deals represent two of the city’s largest industrial deals of the year to date.”
