Two new recruits at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce will be helping to boost the local economy with free support for new and established businesses.
Margaret Bull has joined to help start-up companies and is able to drawn upon a wealth of experience.
She is originally from Poland and moved to the UK 35 years ago. She has plenty of experience in business from running a language tuition agency to operating a family firm supplying and servicing woodworking machines, which was later sold.
Her background will be particularly valuable to those from the growing Polish community looking to set up in business in the region.
Margaret said: “The Polish community has a strong tradition of entrepreneurship and there are many opportunities for them to set up in business here.
“Whilst there are the usual ideas, such as Polish shops, it should be kept in mind that there is a wide range of opportunities for business ownership and wealth creation.
“I am here to help turn business ideas into a reality and, in doing so, create tangible assets for the local economy.”
The second new business adviser, Bineet Desai, will focus on assisting established businesses with growth potential.
He will marshal the experience gained from a four-year tenure with the Chamber’s international trade team where he led missions to Canada and India.
He said: “For me this is an excellent opportunity to offer support to those businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire who are looking to grow and expand. I have no doubt that I will be using my experience in working in international markets as part of this.
“I also have extensive experience of working with technology businesses as, in my previous role, I worked closely with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Google, Intel, Samsung and RIM.”
