The Lexicon, the joint venture partnership between Schroder UK Real Estate Fund and Legal & General Capital, has announced that The Real Greek and Crew Clothing will be taking 3,659 and 600 sq. ft. respectively at the scheme.
The Real Greek will bring its trademark food offering derived from the delicious and healthy diet of the Eastern Mediterranean, where people have a passion for food, family, and life. The restaurant will open on 12 Eagle Lane. Meanwhile, Crew Clothing will introduce its specialised brand of British-inspired casual and sporting wear to The Lexicon’s retail mix with a pop-up on Bracknell Walk.
Schroder UK Real Estate Fund and Legal & General Capital together with Bracknell Forest Council under the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership joint venture, have also completed the refurbishment of Princess Square in Bracknell.
The 200,000 sq. ft. shopping centre has been remodelled as a modern, light, bright and airy centre to house new retailers, as well as giving current retailers a new facade.
The two new signings at The Lexicon also follow on the back of the announcement that The UK’s leading bowling operator, Hollywood Bowl, and New World Trading Co’s cocktail bar ‘The Botanist’ will also be taking a combined 30,000 sq. ft. in the scheme, as part of the next proposed milestone in Bracknell Town Centre’s regeneration – The Deck.
The Lexicon is successfully combining innovative retail, placemaking and regeneration to improve both Bracknell’s day and night-time economy, and The Deck is the next important step in making the town centre ‘The’ new local place to be in the evening by enhancing the town’s night-time economy, which had previously been so lacking.
Harry Pickering, Head of UK Retail at Schroders, comments:
“Since opening in 2018, The Lexicon has defied a challenging retail environment to continue going from strength to strength. These latest signings of The Real Greek and Crew Clothing at The Lexicon – in addition to the recent commitment from Hollywood Bowl and New World Trading Co for The Deck – tick a lot of boxes for the centre’s retail, F&B, and leisure offerings. The deals will accelerate the town centre’s rejuvenation and are a shining example of our business strategy in action, as we focus on investing in carefully selected assets situated within winning locations.”
Nabil Mankarious, Managing Director at The Real Greek, comments:
“The Real Greek is delighted to be opening a brand new restaurant in The Lexicon shopping centre in Bracknell – our 18th site. We have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed sustained demand for our authentic Greek food and drink at our restaurants across the country and The Lexicon is a brilliant location for our next restaurant. It has been designed with the health and safety of our staff and customers as our number one priority and will provide new jobs for the Berkshire area, offering delicious Greek food for Brits, who want a taste of the Eastern Mediterranean”.
The joint agents for The Lexicon, Bracknell are CBRE and Lunson Mitchenall.
