Sanderson Weatherall have been appointed as joint agent alongside Cushman & Wakefield on Central Square South, one of the most iconic office buildings in Newcastle city centre.
Following a 7-figure refurbishment programme in 2016, new tenants now include; Clyde & Co, DWF, HSBC, Avison Young, Sanderson Weatherall, Towergate Insurance, and HGF Limited.
The remaining grade A office space is available as a whole or in part up to 24,000 sq ft and is primely located in the heart of the Stephenson Quarter.
Michael Downey, partner at Sanderson Weatherall commented “Central Square South is one of the most sought-after office buildings within Newcastle city centre. Interestingly, 90% of the take up within Q3 2020 was for Grade A space; a trend which is set to continue in the short term as occupiers consolidate in search of better-quality accommodation.
“The fundamentals behind Newcastle city centre remain strong with a continued dearth of Grade A supply. There are a limited number of schemes for occupiers to consider; when combining this with a robust number of Grade A requirements in the marketplace, we expect a strong level of interest in the space going forward. We are delighted to be instructed as joint agents alongside Cushman & Wakefield and we are excited to see how the letting process will progress.”
Greg Davison, partner at Cushman & Wakefield added “Whilst the ongoing pandemic is undoubtedly influencing decision making, as occupiers look at their real estate and consider whether it is fit for purpose for the ‘new normal’ day to day routine, Central Square South offers a great platform on which to build that future strategy. With suites ranging from 2,700 sq ft upwards, there is flexibility combined with the fantastic additional amenities within the building.
