A key milestone has been reached on a new 70-bed care home being developed by Charterpoint Senior Living in Bingham, Nottinghamshire.
A topping out ceremony has been held to mark the completion of the structure of the care home, which will be run by care operator HC-One.
It has also been revealed that the care home will be named Fosse Way View.
The development is being built on the site of the former police station in Grantham Road by contractor Lawrence Baker and is due to be opened in Summer 2021.
Adrian Goose, Chief Executive of Charterpoint, said: “We are extremely pleased with the progress that has been made on this Charterpoint Senior Living development, especially given the circumstances and challenges that this year has brought.
“This scheme will offer first-class, modern care facilities in an excellent location, providing specialist care in the local community. We are delighted to have now reached the topping out stage of Fosse Way View and look forward to the next stage of the development.”
Mostly over two storeys, with one section over three storeys, the care home will feature residents’ lounges, a hair/beauty salon, cinema room and other extensive communal facilities, along with residents’ gardens.
Operator HC-One offers professional residential, nursing and memory care for older people in over 300 care homes located across England, Scotland and Wales. The new care home will be the company’s second facility in Bingham. It already runs Beauvale in Moor Lane, Bingham, which has a CQC rating of good.
Richard Smith, Director of Design & Construction at HC-One, said: “We are delighted to be marking this key stage of the development of Fosse Way View Care Home. We are excited to be adding to our HC-One family here in Bingham, with Fosse Way View joining our Beauvale Care Home in the town.
“At HC-One, we strive to be the first-choice care provider for residents and colleagues in every community we serve. We are very much looking forward to opening the home next year and working with more talented colleagues in the local area to provide the kindest possible care to more elderly people in a welcoming and state-of-the-art home.”
A Fund managed by TIME Investments, part of the Alpha Real Capital Group, has acquired the investment from Charterpoint.
James Murray at Alpha Real Capital said: “Given the challenging year, it’s great to see how much progress the team have made on the building. The asset once complete, will provide best in class care to the local area and be an important addition to the social assets managed by the Group.”
Representatives from Charterpoint, HC-One, Lawrence Baker and Alpha Real Capital attended the informal topping out ceremony, held in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
