Wolverhampton-based commercial decorating specialist RE Martin has won contracts to provide the finishing works at two new secondary schools in the West Midlands.
The family-run firm has been appointed by contractor Willmott Dixon to carry out the internal decoration at the £19 million Christ Church Secondary Academy in Yardley Wood, Birmingham, which will open next September.
Set to provide 1,150 new pupil places, the school will comprise of a pick-up and drop-off area for pupils, a sports hall, two full-size football pitches and one FA standard 3G pitch.
Morgan Sindall Construction has also appointed the company to work on the £39 million new Houlton School in Rugby, which is part of the 6,200 home urban extension of Houlton. The school will provide over 1,000 new pupil places.
Morgan Sindall Construction is transforming the historic Grade ll listed Rugby Radio Station into the new five storey school while keeping original features. RE Martin will decorate the Sports England-compliant sports hall, and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and humanities areas.
The two new contracts mean that RE Martin can provide employment for over 20 members of staff.

The company, which specialises in decorative and protective coverings for commercial buildings and residential developments, celebrates its 25th anniversary next year.
