Estate agents have swept the board at the Portsmouth Property Association’s (PPA) annual golf challenge day.
The sporting event, one of the social highlights of the year for the 140-strong association, saw Brett Austin of Pearsons in Havant lift the trophy with a 37-point tally on the score card.
A narrow second was James Fairhall of Fairhalls in Gosport and Jason Parker of Bernards in Southsea with 35 and 34 respectivel.
The three men, all PPA members, were among 26 people who took part, including guests with strong property connections, at the 18-hole Petersfield Golf Course.
Leading the non-members’ rankings were Bruce Thompson, Chris Flint and Daniel Upfield with 38, 36 and 35 points respectively.
PPA chairman Barry King, a chartered legal executive at regional solicitors Glanvilles, said: “The estate agents swept the board this year, leaving the rest of us wishing we had spent a little more time practising!
“This is always a well-attended event, providing an informal chance to talk business and discuss market trends.
“There appears to be a little more optimism than has been the case since the global economic rot set in four years ago, which is encouraging.”
The golf course is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, nestling beneath the South Downs and The Hangers, just north of Petersfield.
