One of the world’s largest aerospace companies is starting operations at IM Properties’ (IMP) Fore Business Park, near Solihull.
The brand new 23,700 sq ft building was completed in August for Collins Aerospace on the M42 business park near junction 4.
The Florida-headquartered corporation – which employs more than 70,000 people in 30 countries – initially took 25,600 sq ft at the park as UTC Aerospace Systems, which then merged with Rockwell Collins in November 2018 to create Collins Aerospace.
The brand new ‘EPC A’ rated building, delivered by IM Properties’ in-house project delivery team, combines research and development laboratories with Grade A offices above and was completed in August.
Alongside the building for Collins Aerospace, IM have also built a 222-sqace multi-storey car park, which will provide an overspill for existing occupiers at Fore.
Majella Lynch project director for IM Properties, said: “The installation of Collins Aerospace builds on the opening of our new 65,000 sq ft campus at Fore last summer and means the business park is now fully occupied. The letting to Collins Aerospace reinforces junction 4 as a significant employment location on the M42, alongside our Blythe Valley Park scheme.
“Constructing the building throughout the Covid pandemic has brought new challenges for our delivery teams and we are proud to have delivered a high quality building for Collins Aerospace despite this uncertainty.”
Claire Wright, business services manager for Collins Aerospace said: “We are delighted with our new building at Fore Business Park, which grows our operation in Solihull. The link with our existing building at Fore gives us a versatile base to cater for the needs of our future operations.”
Fore Business Park is situated on Junction 4 of the M42 motorway within minutes of Birmingham Airport and with regular bus services to Dorridge and Solihull train stations.
