One of the biggest fitness franchises in the UK, énergie Fitness, has opened a 6,000 sq ft gym at Eastern Business Park in Old St Mellons, Cardiff.
In line with the latest governemnt Covid-safe regulations, every effort has been made to ensure the gym, normally equipped to cater for 57 people at one time, is a safe environment with numbers limited to 25 and social distancing a priority. There are also individual showers and a strict sanitisation system.
Eastern Business Park, owned by Robert Hitchins Ltd, is in Newport Road, close to the main A48 leading into Cardiff from the M4.
Énergie Fitness provides state-of-the-art fitness equipment including Precor Preva cross trainers, treadmills and bikes plus a free weights area, an Olympic Lifting Platform, cardiovascular equipment and discounted MyZone heart-rate monitors.
A circuit-based training zone includes punch bags, jump boxes, slam balls and other body-strengthening equipment.
The club gives people in the Cardiff area low-cost access to first-class fitness facilities, as well as classes both at St Mellons and online.
New franchisee James Kempton, 38, has given up a career in banking to open énergie Fitness in Cardiff.
“When a member walks in, they will be greeted with a friendly smile and if they need help using the equipment we will be happy to provide assistance,” he said.
“We’ve done everything possible to ensure the gym is safe. All the equipment is spaced out to ensure social distancing and all equipment is sanitised after use.
“Eastern Business Park is a great location. It’s easy to get to. There is lots of free parking plus a new restaurant. We can also open the windows which makes a huge difference to the air quality.”
Robert Hitchins’ Asset and Development Manager John Jones welcomed James and énergie Fitness to Eastern Business Park.
“énergie Fitness is an excellent fit for us at Eastern Business Park, with the health and wellbeing of employees critical to the productivity of modern companies,” he said.
