St James Quarter, Edinburgh has secured Peloton, the global interactive fitness platform, for the city. Founded in New York City in 2012, Peloton is set to open a showroom at St James Quarter in 2021.
Peloton will take 2,926 sq ft on level 3 at St James Quarter, which will launch in Spring 2021 with the opening of the first retail phase of the development. Peloton’s new location will provide consumers with the chance to experience its suite of connected fitness products, including the Peloton Bike and Peloton Bike+. Consumers will also be able to shop the latest Peloton apparel.
Peloton pioneered connected, technology-enabled fitness, and introduced its indoor Bike to a U.S. audience in 2014. In 2018, Peloton began international expansion, launching in the UK and Canada. Peloton brings the energy and benefits of studio-style workouts to the convenience and comfort of home. With thousands of classes across a variety of disciplines, taught by a roster of elite instructors, Peloton delivers real-time motivation and curated playlists from the world’s best artists. In the UK, the brand’s immersive content is accessible through the Peloton Bike, Peloton Bike+, Peloton Tread (available for purchase from December 26 2020) and the Peloton App, which provides a full slate of fitness offerings, wherever you are.
Chris Pyne, Head of Leasing for St James Quarter, commented: “Peloton has successfully combined our desire for technology within its fitness products and online training, revolutionising methods of at-home exercise which have become so important in these challenging times. We’re very excited to announce that they will be bringing their unique offer to St James Quarter with their new showroom.”
Martyn Clark, International Director of Real Estate Development for Peloton, added: “St James Quarter stood out as a key location for us, as we continue to expand our retail footprint, and we look forward to introducing more people to the Peloton brand.”
