A growing design and engineering consultancy is expanding into new offices – and has just appointed a key new hire to extend the range of services the company offers.
Paramex, which was established 21 years ago, will not be moving far, however, as the firm is taking a larger office at its current HQ at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Business Innovation Centre in Binley, Coventry.
Part of the growth, sees Wayne Burgess join Paramex as Chief Design Officer, having previously worked for several premium automotive manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Geely in a career spanning more than three decades.
His arrival enhances the services that the company can offer to its automotive client-base including state-of-the-art creative design, digital modelling and digital visualisation services.
Lisa May, Business Director, said the latest expansion would move Paramex to the next level.
She said: “We are thrilled to be expanding into even bigger offices at the Business Innovation Centre. The fact that we can grow here is great for Paramex and having the flexibility of knowing that we could expand here again is a real benefit.
“The office here provides a very professional first impression to clients and partners who visit, and this is extremely important to Paramex.
“The arrival of Wayne opens up new opportunities for the business, particularly when you consider the companies he has worked for previously, and the experience and standing he has in the sector.”
Wayne added: “The global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we all work and proven what we already knew – that we can successfully create cars and products and visual assets remotely.
“Many companies have necessarily had to reduce headcount during these challenges times, but products nevertheless still need to be delivered.
“We aim to support the industry by offering fixed price, outsourced packages of work, or on-site resources if required, as an extension of their core team’s capabilities.
“I’ve been fortunate to have spent nearly 30 years designing cars for some of the most prestigious brands in the business, it’s time for me to share the benefit of that knowledge and experience with the widest possible audience, as our industry moves forward into an era of sustainable, connected, zero emissions and ultimately safe autonomous vehicles.”
Penny Robb, Business Innovation Centre manager, said Paremex’s expansion reflected positively on the University of Warwick Science Park.
She said: “Paramex have been growing here over many years now, which is great news and shows the quality, flexibility and breadth of what we offer here.
“This is an exciting new chapter for the company as it expands again and is attracting extremely high-calibre personnel into the business.”
