Brighouse-based commercial and industrial lettings specialist Towngate PLC, has agreed a 10-year lease with Van-Line Ltd on a 57,500 sq ft industrial unit in Leeds.
The high-specification TL3 unit – which forms part of the newly-built Towngate Link development – will see the wholesale firm join existing tenants, London City Bond and Beerhawk Ltd, at the West Yorkshire site.
Van-Line is a key supply partner to the repair and maintenance industry through its commercial ‘Workshop Warehouse’ brand. The ISO 9001 accredited company celebrates forty years serving UK business in 2021, and the relocation to modern office, warehousing and distribution facilities has provided healthy capacity for continued expansion.
Supplying a comprehensive range of quality workshop consumables and tools, the organisation is ambitious with its plans to further enhance its product portfolio, service support and customer provision.
Van-Line Ltd will be using the newly built space for its Workshop Warehouse operation, which sells automotive components and parts, as well as safety equipment, hand tools, fasteners, sealants and several other stock items.
The property forms part of the phased construction of four brand new industrial units at Towngate Link. Work on the final building – a 17,000 sq ft industrial / trade counter – is now complete, and the property available to let.
Rose Thornborrow, Managing Director, at Van-Line commented: “The new premises provide the business with a fantastic working environment and opportunity for growth. Van-Line’s evolution necessitated a market leading ‘service and distribution hub’ and the realisation of this is testament to the hard work and ambition of everyone connected with the business.
“The company is now ideally located at the heart of Yorkshire’s logistical network, providing improved accessibility for our valued customers and expedient distribution of our ‘next day delivery service’.”
Tom Lamb, property manager at Towngate PLC, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Van-Line Ltd to the Towngate Link family and are confident they will be pleased with the attention to detail that has gone into the overall functionality of this high specification building – both internally and externally. With such proximity to Leeds city centre and the M1 and M62 motorway network, the facility will prove extremely effective for the business moving forwards.”
Tom Goode of Knight Frank concluded: “Knight Frank is delighted to have worked with long-standing client, Towngate PLC, on this pre-let to Van-Line Ltd. Following the success of Phase 1, the fact that a tenant was found on pre-let basis is a testament to the high specification of the units and the forward-thinking of Towngate to develop this prime scheme.”
The property has been built by Caddicks Construction Limited, with work overseen by David Stanway of David Stanway & Associates. Towngate PLC was represented by Gent Visick and Knight Frank. Van-Line was represented by Matthew Ewin of Savills (Leeds).
