Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) has confirmed 3 Line Electrical Wholesale Ltd is the latest occupier of one of few remaining industrial units to let at Peterborough’s Eagle Business Park in Yaxley.
The company – which offers a wide range of electrical supplies – has taken a new lease on a 4,300 sq ft (400 sq m) industrial unit at 6 Peregrine Court, part of the Park’s second phase of development which is now built out.
Established in 2009 and with over 70 employees, 3 Line Electrical Wholesale Ltd has eight branches across the UK – including Norwich, Newmarket and Ipswich in the eastern region.
The new Peterborough location at Peregrine Court will be the company’s central distribution centre from where it will supply and service its UK branch network.
Simon Goulding, 3 Line Electrical Wholesale Ltd’s Financial Director, explained, “In seeking a central location for a new depot, we identified Peterborough as the best location for road connectivity between all our branches and customers.
“We had looked at other units – mostly older stock – before we landed on the brand new facility at Peregrine Court.
“Initially, we will deploy staff members from other branches in the region at the new Peterborough distribution centre, but will be looking to add to the local headcount with recruitment from within the area in due course.”
Barker Storey Matthews is the sole agent at Eagle Business Park and Richard Jones of its Peterborough office added, “Demand for industrial units has remained steady during business lockdown and deals already in motion before the spring have come to fruition.
“Recent completions at Peregrine Court, alongside Harrier Court, at Eagle Business Park are due to the nature of the occupiers’ businesses, such as that of 3 Line Electrical Ltd, which, in turn, reflects the wider economic forces now in play.”
