Sweet Construct have achieved practical completion two weeks ahead of schedule for a new build industrial warehouse at Royal Portbury Dock on behalf of The Bristol Port Company.
The Bristol-based construction contractor commenced delivery of the impressive 70,000 square foot structure in February. The completion adds to a portfolio of successful schemes across the South West and South Wales which have contributed to the company’s ongoing growth during recent years.
Andrew Ord, Operations Director at The Bristol Port Company said “Sweet Construct have delivered a high-quality scheme and have clearly demonstrated their capabilities, agility and resilience during a challenging period. This project forms part of our industrial development pipeline for ongoing investment and expansion at the Port and we are delighted to have achieved early completion for this scheme.”
Head of Construction for Sweet Construct, David Rhys-Jones, commented: “It is great to have reached practical completion for this scheme, and to have developed a strong working relationship with the team at The Bristol Port Company. We hope to have the opportunity to work with them again in future to deliver more high-quality construction projects.”
The latest project adds to a run of success by the company both on and off site during 2020. Earlier this year the company was crowned as a regional winner in the ‘Ones to watch’ Enterprising West of England awards and last week, the firm was announced as a finalist for the Constructing Excellence South West award for People Development.
