Kate Wood has joined Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) as its new Director of Planning, from the Cambridge office of the Pegasus Group.
Based in Barker Storey Matthews’ headquarters in Peterborough, Kate will work across all the firm’s eastern region offices in Cambridge, Huntingdon and Bury St Edmunds, as well as Eddisons’ offices across the UK.
Kate has a degree in town and country planning and has been a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) for over 25 years. She has extensive commercial planning experience, including significant involvement with several of the region’s new towns and mixed-use settlements.
As a chartered town planner, Kate has held senior planning positions at Carter Jonas and South Cambridgeshire District Council, among others. She joins Barker Storey Matthews to lead the firm’s regional planning team and as part of Eddisons’ wider professional services offer across the country.
Welcoming Kate Wood to Barker Storey Matthews, Steve Hawkins, Partner, Eddisons Barker Storey Matthews, commented, “Kate joins us at a time when commercial property concerns are top of mind for business operators and investors alike as business lockdown lifts.
“Also, this summer has seen the most radical revision to the planning system proposed by central government for decades.
“With property interests focusing on maximising existing and forthcoming property and development opportunities within the framework of a changing planning system, Kate’s experience and in depth land and planning knowledge of the eastern region sees our four regional offices well placed to offer clients expert insight and top professional advice as move to the final quarter of 2020 and beyond.”
