Jeremy Nolan, a director of Glentrool, commented: “We are very proud of having concluded these three deals at Sherburn2 during the last 12 months. They are a resounding endorsement of both the quality and the location of our development.
“Work has progressed tremendously well at Sherburn2. The high-quality Cromwell building is occupied, and two major companies, Ford and Portakabin, are now on site too. The whole infrastructure of the site is complete, meaning Sherburn2 is oven ready for development and potential occupiers.
“We have also completed work on footpaths and cycle ways connecting Sherburn2 to the adjacent Sherburn Enterprise Park, Sherburn and railway station. This is a very significant time for us after years of hard work and preparation”.
Commenting on the three deals, Josh Holmes of property consultancy Carter Towler, joint marketing agents for Sherburn2, said: “Sherburn2 is at a very exciting stage. Glentrool’s ambitious plans are being realised.
“We have had a lot of positive interest recently from manufacturing, logistics and warehousing businesses and now we have these exceptional new occupiers on site. This is a resounding endorsement of the quality of the development.”
Jeremy Nolan added: “Overall we have secured planning for 1.25m sq ft to deliver manufacturing and distribution warehouses from 25,000 to 600,000sq ft.
“Selby District Council and the Local Enterprise Partnership have provided support to help to get this project off the ground. As momentum has now gathered pace at Sherburn2, we would like to thank them”.
The Leader of Selby District Council, Cllr Mark Crane, said, “As we look to the future after Covid-19 it’s really important the Selby district is able to play an important part in the plans of big companies like this. Sites like Sherburn2 support lots of jobs and opportunities. It’s a great location for business investment, right at the heart of Yorkshire – and it’s great to see companies confidently investing in our area.
“Sherburn2 benefits from great transport links, a strong local workforce and a quality of life that helps companies to attract and retain the best talent.”
The 90-acre site is situated in an excellent location for logistics and manufacturing companies close to junction 42 of the A1(M), the M1 and the M62, as well as the coastal ports of Hull and Grimsby, and regional rail and airports. It has the capacity to create employment for over 2,000 people.
