A decision to change career and work in commercial property has culminated in the achievement of chartered surveyor status for Jessica Harding, of the Project & Building Consultancy team in the Bristol office of Colliers International.
Jessica is one of eleven Colliers International graduates who recently passed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
She originally took a degree in Criminology and had been working in property management when she decided to embark upon a career in commercial property. After combining working full-time with studying to gain an MSc in Building Surveying through the University College of Estate Management, she joined global real estate advisor Colliers International as a trainee surveyor in 2018.
Jessica said: “It has definitely been worth all the hard work, and I very much appreciate all the support I’ve received from my colleagues and through the Colliers International Graduate APC scheme.”
Jo Edwards, head of the South West and South Wales at Colliers International, added: “Jessica has shown great dedication and determination in pursuing her chosen career as a chartered surveyor and her APC success is well deserved.
“She has already had a challenging journey to reach this point in her career and I now look forward to seeing her progress further at Colliers.”
The way in which Jessica and the other successful Colliers International graduates achieved APC success during the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 crisis has been praised by Tony Horrell, Chief Executive Officer of Colliers International for UK and Ireland, who said: “This is a huge achievement and a testament to their hard work – even more so given the different circumstances under which they took their assessment.
“At Colliers, we encourage our people to do their best work every day, and as part of this we place great importance upon professional standards.
“The success of our graduates reflects the way in which they have embraced this ethos, and have made the most of the opportunities available to them through our APC training programme. It also highlights the support that they have received from their colleagues during their APC journeys.”
