LabTech, owner of Camden Market, has announced its eco-led sister development Buck Street Market has officially re-opened for business from July 15th. Kick starting eco-friendly trading in Camden will be 80% of Buck Street’s traders, followed by its rooftop restaurants, Ethika, Spirited Craft Drinks and the first floor intimate fine-dining concept Wildflower, opening on July 18th.
Comprising of 88 recycled shopping containers that house the market, Buck Street Market hosts Camden’s largest rooftop spanning 500 sq ft. Designed by the in-house team, the rooftop will also showcase an Insta-worthy millennial pink terrace, complete with bright pink AstroTurf and a big screen, launching towards the end of July.
Following the successful re-opening of Camden Market on June 1st, LabTech is introducing similar measures at Buck Street Market to ensure the safety of visitors, workers and the local community. These include:
- A ‘one-way’ system across the site, with directional wayfinding arrows
- Installation of floor markers that display good social distancing
- Public hand sanitiser stations positioned throughout the market
All brands at Buck Street Market remain committed to sustainable practices and processes, with recycling points set throughout the destination, and a zero-single-use-plastic on-site policy. Traders are also expected to adhere to factors in line with Government recommendations, including limiting the number of customers entering at any one time, maintaining a strict cleaning regime, and accepting card payments only, where possible.
Commenting on LabTech’s plans to re-open, Maggie Milosavljevic, LabTech’s Commercial Director, said: “It is important we continue to communicate the guidelines we have in place across our estate. Since reopening Camden Market successfully, and now reopening Buck Street Market we are continuing to build momentum for businesses across Camden, while ensuring all our visitors and staff remain safe and secure.
“This has been an unprecedented time for many businesses, and we are proud to be able to welcome back so many traders and consumers at their own pace. As a leading London landlord, we strive to support unique ventures such as Buck Street Market, which provides a great concept for our eco-conscious community; an area we are all increasingly aware of as a result of lockdown.”
The launch of Buck Street Market will be followed by the opening of Hawley Wharf Camden; a 580,000 sq ft mixed-scheme development due to open later in 2020.
