The UK’s largest alternative provider of telecoms fibre networks has located its Cambridge headquarters in Bar Hill in a deal which saw Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) acting as the sole agent on behalf of the landlord.
CityFibre has taken a five year lease on refurbished office and R&D premises at 1 Munro House on Trafalgar Way in the South Cambridgeshire village, five miles north west of the city.
At 1,804 sq ft (167 sq m), 1 Munro House sees CityFibre with a self-contained, air conditioned, two storey building with office space, meeting rooms and dedicated parking in Bar Hill’s central commercial district, adjacent to the newly upgraded A14.
Barker Storey Matthews has announced this deal at the same time as confirming the letting of four units at Deal Business Park, in the South Cambridgeshire village of Sawston, to Lite Access Technologies – a subcontractor of CityFibre in the provider’s roll out of fibre infrastructure in the Cambridge area.
Both deals have been completed by Barker Storey Matthews as business lockdown eases.
In commenting on local market conditions, Ben Green of the agent’s Cambridge office said, “Deals underway as we entered the spring (2020) – and some struck during subsequent months – are concluding.
