Business lockdown and restricted trading restrictions have been no bar to the Huntingdon office of Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) securing the letting of the final unit at Enfield Court, a new build, light industrial development in St Ives.
Enfield Court is a development of ten new industrial/workshop units on the Somersham Road Trading Estate in St Ives – the Cambridgeshire market town’s principal commercial district – at the junction of Nuffield Road and Burrel Road.
The final two units – both at 1,000 sq ft – were still available to let at the beginning of March (2020) and Barker Storey Matthews, as the sole agent for the development, continued to actively market their availability during the spring and have now confirmed the completion of both lettings at the beginning of this month (July).
Enfield Court has attracted a range of business operators including a signwriter, light engineering company, builder, shutter manufacturer, fitness trainers and a small animal hydrotherapy pool.
According to Barker Storey Matthews, the development’s occupiers have been attracted by the quality of the units, as well as the location which has good access to the newly upgraded A14.
Stephen Power, of the agent’s Huntingdon office, added, “Enfield Court attracted serious interest from occupiers from the start.
“To have secured the letting of the final unit during the time of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions is a testament to business confidence in the region as we all learn to adjust to new trading conditions.”
