Expansion plans for a major commercial development in Coventry are ready for take off.
Pilot Business Park, which is home to a new Royal Mail Distribution Centre, already has planning permission for 61,500 sq ft of business space and a further 50,000 sq ft of space could be added subject to planning permission.
The development, which is just off the A46/A45 junction close to Coventry Airport, could be home to office, industrial or warehouse units to suit occupiers’ needs from 5,165 sq ft up to 40,285 sq ft.
Design and build opportunities have been made available and David Penn, managing director of commercial property agents Shortland Penn + Moore, said it was oven ready for a companies wanting to create their own home in a great location.
He said: “This area of the city is only going to get more and more commercially vibrant so this is a great opportunity for companies to make this their home.
“It is perfectly located for the region’s road network – that’s why Royal Mail decided to base their distribution centre here.
“Planning permission has already been granted so there is great potential here for fast-track buildings to be created to suit the occupiers’ needs.”
The Royal Mail’s car parking facilities are also being extended while an investment deal has also been concluded wherein a pension fund has become landlord of the Royal Mail property.
Penn added: “The Airport Retail Park – which includes Currys, Dunelm and PC World – close to Pilot Business Park is currently being brought back to full capacity after a fire last year so there is very positive activity there.
“The whole area around the airport is attracting a great deal of attention so this is an ideal time to make the move here.”
Properties would be developed to a very good ‘BREEAM’ rating, which means they would be highly sustainable.
