Tesco is to open a new convenience store on the ground floor of the One The Brayford development in Lincoln.
The supermarket chain has taken a ten year lease on the property – which is just situated on the north side of the Brayford, underneath the residential development and neighbouring the Double Tree Hilton.
News of Tesco’s arrival is likely to be welcomed by the University of Lincoln and all local residents, it’s situated by the centre of the campus which services 15,000 students.
Planning applications for Tesco’s new shop frontage and signs have already been approved by Lincoln City Council.
Contractors will be appointed shortly to begin the stores fit out.
One The Brayfords residential scheme has been a successful addition to Lincolns City centre, with only three out of 100 apartments now available. The arrival of Tesco means only two neighbouring commercial units now remain.
One The Brayford director, Simon Grace from J&J Developments comment: It’s great to see Tesco commit to the development, hopefully this will act as a catalyst for the remaining two units. The location is prime, opposite the University campus, a short walk to Lincoln’s main High Street and close to leading national chains such as Wagamama, Nandos and Ask. We’re happy to announce some positive news as everybody pushes to get back to work since the outbreak of COVID-19.
