Garden rooms have surged in popularity in the last few years as they provide homeowners with flexible and affordable expansion; whether it’s for home working, leisure or entertainment.
As a result of this growing trend and building on its success to date, Composite Garden Buildings has acquired new premises in Kettering. The established company has recently completed the purchase of a detached 14,295 sq ft industrial facility at 19 Telford Way, on the corner with Bartley Drive, through commercial property agent Prop-Search, acting on behalf of a private client.
Composite Garden Buildings supply and install low maintenance garden rooms, which offer high performance for all year round use with an authentic timber look, but without the painting and maintenance associated with timber products. The company will use the building as its new manufacturing facility with showroom.
Director of Composite Garden Buildings, Jason Wilder, said: “With more and more people working from home – particularly at the moment due to Covid-19 – having an office space can be essential and what better place to work than in the comfort of your own garden office – a dedicated space separate from your home.”
“But it doesn’t have to be about laptops, printers and pie charts on the wall – a garden room could also accommodate a business like a hair or beauty salon, pet grooming service or physiotherapy clinic.”
“Equally, garden rooms don’t have to be all work and no play – they can provide that perfect entertainment space with the ability to be opened up during those hot summer months and closed off in the winter to keep out the cold chill.”
Commenting on the sale of the property, Richard Baker a Director of Prop-Search, said: “Even with the challenges faced by everyone at the moment with the ‘lockdown’, we still managed to complete the sale to an agreed timeframe.”
“Ironically, as more people have experienced home-working due to current circumstances, it could become more normal for staff to split their time between working from the office and the home – and no doubt garden rooms as made by Composite Garden Buildings could be appearing in a garden near you shortly.”
