After 11 years with Calthorpe Estates, initially as Chief Financial Officer and then Chief Executive, Mark Lee has decided to move on from Calthorpe Estates. He will leave after its AGM in July 2020.
During Mark’s time with the business, we have seen the development of the Edgbaston Medical Quarter, the creation of Edgbaston Village and the development of a 50 Year Vision, which includes rejuvenation of the Edgbaston Commercial Centre with major regeneration projects such as New Garden Square. Mark has represented the Estate in the local business community and more broadly in the UK Private Patient Group and the UK group of other family estates.
Mark commented: “I have hugely enjoyed my time at Calthorpe Estates, working with a great team who have delivered so much for Edgbaston and Birmingham over recent years. We have put the Edgbaston Medical Quarter on the map through the transformation of Pebble Mill, and the framework is now in place for rejuvenation of the Commercial Centre around Five Ways. I feel that it is the right time to pass on the baton.”
Commenting on the move, Chair of Trustees Andrew Parker said: “On behalf of Calthorpe Estates I would like to thank Mark for his contribution to the development of the Estate, safely seeing it through the initial stages of Covid-19 and working with us to plan for his successor, as the team focuses on the current economic uncertainty and the continued success of the business. We wish him the very best for the next challenge he will undertake. We expect to make a further announcement shortly on Mark’s successor.”
