Lawrence Tomlinson, chairman of the LNT Group has won the UK final of the Institute of Director’s National Director of the Year Award 2012.
The entrepreneur was named Director of the Year for a Large Company and Overall Director of the Year at the award ceremony in London.
The awards, which were hosted by Michael Portillio, were held at The Lancaster London Hotel in Hyde Park.
Mr Tomlinson qualified for the UK finals of the awards as he won his local IoD Director of the Year Awards in 2011. Mr Tomlinson faced competition from other directors such as John Beaumont from the Longcross Group Limited, Steve Dalton from Sony UK Technology Centre and Bill Scott of the Wilton Group.
Lawrence Tomlinson said: “I am delighted to have won not only Director of the Year for a large company but Overall Director of the Year too in front of some big names in business. Even in these tough financial times, we are still able to grow and achieve great things for the company.”

The IoD Awards weren’t the only thing Mr Tomlinson’s LNT Group had a presence at in London. His Ginetta Car business was holding pole position at the Best of Britannia exhibition at The Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell.
Best of Britannia is a brand new event which caters for both established and new designers. The Ginetta Lifestyle team displayed the new range of G58 clothing, inspired by Lawrence’s passion for motorsport, at the prestigious event. Ginetta were exhibiting amongst names from a range of manufacturers, record labels and clothing and cosmetic companies.
