A company moving into its 35th year as a member of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has described it as ‘a force for good’ for businesses in the region.
The Wigley Group based in Stockton, Southam, has been a valued member of the local Chamber since 1985, and a strategic partner in recent years.
It has significantly evolved from its beginnings as a construction plant hire and road building contractor to its present incarnation as a leading commercial property, development and construction company in the Midlands.
James Davies, managing director of The Wigley Group, said: “Whilst largely unrecognisable from the property investment company we were when we joined in 1985, we still follow the same core values and the model of buying older stock for longer-term redevelopment.
“Being a member of the Chamber has certainly helped us grow the brand to become a prevalent regional business.
“The Chamber is a force for good for regional businesses and in particular a lifeline for smaller businesses which do not perhaps have the infrastructure that we are fortunate to have built over six decades, and that’s why membership is so important.”
Strategic partnership enables The Wigley Group to work alongside the Chamber to influence and inform decision-makers at a local, regional and national level, and it has been involved in an expert working group to help address issues facing the commercial property market.
The company also access training available through the Chamber and its first apprentice appointed in 2017 studied with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Training, and has since won several external awards and been promoted to finance manager.
James added: “Reinvesting in our region and investing in our people and our future is at the core of The Wigley Group, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Chamber to support our business, and our region’s businesses and economy.”
Louise Wall, Commercial Director of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are very proud to have served The Wigley Group as members of the Chamber for 35 years and to have supported their growth in that time.
“We look forward to working with them well into the future as the company continues to expand in the region.”
