An assistant facilities manager in the South West and South Wales office of Colliers International has achieved a Masters in Building Surveying with Distinction.
Carolina Green studied for the MSc with the University College of Estate Management by distance learning over a two year period.
“It was challenging working a full week and then spending evenings and weekends studying,” she said.
“However, the course itself was fast-paced and interesting and that kept me going. I am beyond pleased to have achieved a distinction, albeit slightly shocked.
“I transferred to the facilities manager role whilst trying to finish my course in October 2019, so the timing wasn’t great. It was quite stressful trying to get my head around the new role during the day and then going home to try to finish a dissertation. I would have settled for a pass at that point!”
Jo Edwards, head of the South West and South Wales at Colliers International, said: “At Colliers we encourage staff to develop their skills and qualifications in order to progress their careers and take up new opportunities within the company.
“Carolina is a great example of someone who has embraced the professional development opportunities available to her, and her achievement in gaining a MSc in Building Surveying with Distinction is well-deserved, and testimony to her hard work and commitment.”
Carolina originally completed a BA in Italian and Russian at the University of Bristol, and joined Colliers International as a team administrator for Project & Building Consultancy and Out of Town Retail, before moving to her present role with the Investment Property Management team in October 2019.
