Vacancy rates at the Swan Centre have fallen by 45 per cent over the past two years, with four of nine available units having been let to occupiers including Kaspas Desserts and Libertine Burger.
David Walton, Director at Harris Lamb, said, “We’ve been pleased with the progress made at the Swan Centre. Rugby’s renaissance is continuing, and we are targeting good quality restaurants and retailers to complement the existing tenants as the centre continues to evolve with the town.
An award-winning travel agency has now chosen to site its 13th Midlands outlet in the Swan Centre.
Millington Travel has been confirmed as the latest occupier at the shopping centre, having signed a 10-year lease, and is currently fitting out unit 12 in order to open its doors before Christmas.
David added: “Our planning team has recently obtained consent on behalf of landlord Caracal Properties for two of the remaining units, widening the usage permissions to include restaurant use in order to offer greater flexibility to potential occupiers.
“We’re now close to securing further occupiers and to achieving our goal of creating a restaurant quarter in the heart of Rugby with supporting retail and leisure, and look forward to welcoming further tenants in the new year,” he added.
Two restaurant and three retail units are currently available within the centre.
Millington Travel, which was named Central England travel agency of the year at the 2019 Agent Achievement Awards, has 12 other outlets throughout Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Northampton.
Harris Lamb acts as managing agents for the centre and is joint letting agent alongside Space Retail Property Consultants and Harnell Taylor Cook.
