The final new build warehouse unit at Kingston Park, Hampton, Peterborough has been let by Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) to Arnold Laver Timberworld, – part of National Timber Group – whose trade counter services opened for business this month (November).
Barker Storey Matthews was the sole agent under the instruction of the developer, Barnack Estates (UK) Ltd, on this final industrial unit – 12 Flaxley Road at Kingston Park.
The detached warehouse unit on the Hampton commercial park sees Arnold Laver Timberworld with 1,267 sq m (12,400 sq ft) of trade counter and storage space, with a self-contained yard, on a site just shy of 1 acre (0.93 acres), at the front of the commercial scheme – visible from the A1139 Peterborough Parkway.
Kingston Park is an established business location where other industrial occupiers include Amazon and Willis & Gambier. The new tenant of this final unit joins other trade counter and showroom business occupiers at the front of the development.
While Arnold Laver Timberworld is an established timber merchant brand in Yorkshire, the North West and the South East, the new unit at Kingston Park is part of a strategic push by the company into new trading territories and is one of a programme of five new openings across the country this winter (2019 and 2020).
Chris Whitlock, National Timber Group’s Development Director, explained, “Peterborough is an excellent location from which to expand the Arnold Laver Timberworld brand and offering.
“With such excellent road connections, we can reach out to existing and new customer bases, serving public and trade audiences, in the East Midlands and East Anglia. Plus, as a new build warehouse unit, we aren’t inheriting a previous occupier’s fit out and have a quality unit on which we can stamp our own identity from the start.”
Richard Jones, who is based in Barker Storey Matthews’ Peterborough office and led the letting instruction of 12 Flaxley Road, added, “Kingston Park is a fine example of a modern commercial scheme which satisfies the exacting property requirements of industrial and office occupiers alike.
“It’s a development on which we’ve been proud to act as agent.”
