The Huntingdon office of Barker Storey Matthews – now part of Eddisons – has been appointed by the developers as the sole agent under instruction to market a new development of industrial/warehouse units in Bedfordshire. Barker Storey Matthews’ appointment follows its role in the successful sale of the commercial site on which the new scheme will be developed.
The new development of 18 units, to be known as Woodlands Estate, is on part of the Woodlands Nurseries site in Upper Caldecote, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, immediately west of the A1. The units will range in size from 2,500 sq ft up to 21,000 sq ft to appeal to a wide occupier mix.
The site was sold with outline planning consent for almost 100,000 sq ft (actual 99,868 sq ft) of commercial development through Barker Storey Matthews’ Huntingdon agency earlier this year (2019) to Barnack Developments and its development partners for an undisclosed sum.
Barker Storey Matthews has acted as agent for Barnack Developments on a number of the developer’s new commercial schemes in both Huntingdonshire and Peterborough.
Now with full planning permission for Woodlands Estate recently granted, the developer has, again, appointed Barker Storey Matthews as the sole agent to market the units for sale or to let at this latest industrial scheme.
Rob Facer, Chairman of Barnack Estates, commented, “We are extremely pleased to be able to start work to build a substantial and quality development to enhance the local economy and provide more opportunities for regional businesses.”
Construction of Woodlands Estate is already underway with enabling works in hand. The new units are scheduled for occupation towards the end of the summer next year (2020).
