The Managing Partner of a Welsh law firm has been invited by the Secretary of State for Wales to attend the Paralympics Games.
As an official guest of Her Majesty’s Government, Clive Thomas of Watkins & Gunn Solicitors is one of only three guests of the Wales Office to attend the swimming at the Aquatics Centre in the London Olympic Park.
The invite was made in recognition of those who have recently received accolades for their work in the community and their leadership in Wales.
On receiving the invite, Clive Thomas, said: “I’m honoured to have been recognised by the Wales Office and look forward to being a special guest at the Paralympics Games. I’m excited about visiting the Olympic Park, getting into the spirit of the Games and watching some truly inspirational athletes take part in the swimming. “
Clive took on the role of Managing Partner of Watkins and Gunn Solicitors in 2007. Since taking the helm he and his Partners have transformed the firm from a high street practice in Gwent into a dynamic, nationally recognised award-winning South Wales law firm.
A Leading Wales Award winner in 2011, Clive has successfully led the firm through the recession, evolving the firm’s offering and procedures, to buck the trend and achieve a 20 per cent increase in turnover last year. On top of client satisfaction levels being at an all time high with an overall satisfaction rating of almost 99%, this year, the firm scooped Legal Services Team of the Year at the prestigious Claims Innovation Awards.
