JLL has launched a new Midlands’ development team to complement its established planning team.
Chris Prescott will head up as planning and development director, supported by graduate, Rose Treasure, working across the commercial and residential teams in the Birmingham and Nottingham offices.
Their role will be to work with the public sector, landowners and developers to assess feasibility and viability of sites, with a focus on master planning and bringing forward property developments.
Chris recently relocated from the firms Manchester office and has a long history with JLL and previously King Sturge, managing sizeable private and public sector projects. These include the development of the 40 ha Estuary Commerce Park Speke, and the procurement of Kier Property with CTP on behalf of Liverpool City Council to deliver the next phase of the city’s commercial district expansion.
Ian Cornock, lead director for the Midlands region of JLL, said: “The new development team further strengthens the Midlands business and in particular our planning and residential teams, enhancing our in-house expertise to create a powerful proposition for clients looking for joined-up advice under one umbrella.
“The team’s focus is to deliver independent specialist advice, supported by early stage research and strategic insight to help ensure client’s proposals receive planning permission and their development opportunities deliver the best returns.”
JLL has previously advised on a number of significant schemes across the region including Branston Locks Burton on Trent, Coseley Eco Park Dudley, and Copthorne Barracks Shrewsbury.
