Industrial developer and asset management company Chancerygate has hired an experienced asset manager to join its team.
George Jerram arrives from Square Metre Asset Management in London, where he was an asset manager for five years. Before that, he was part of the investment property management team at Colliers’ West End office for four years.
At present, Chancerygate oversees £220m of assets nationwide across more than 4.9m sq ft of commercial space in 355 industrial, retail, office and leisure units.
Working from Chancerygate’s London office, George will be responsible for managing an industrial portfolio across both the company’s own balance sheet and third-party mandates. His previous experience includes managing nationwide industrial, retail and central London office portfolios.
Commenting on his appointment, George said: “Chancerygate is an exciting and entrepreneurial company with a refreshing approach to asset management. I’m looking forward to bringing my expertise to bear on the company’s own assets and those managed for third-parties.”
Whilst the asset management team is recruiting, Chancerygate’s industrial development business is also reporting significant ongoing expansion. This year, the business will triple its completed developments compared with the previous year, delivering more than one million sq ft across 13 schemes compared to 340,000 sq ft in 2018.
Welcoming George to the company, Chancerygate’s head of asset management, Rory Finnan, said: “George is a high-calibre addition to our asset management team. He brings with him a wealth of experience across a wide range of asset management initiatives that will be vital to the running of our diverse portfolio.”
In March, Chancerygate announced it had secured the sale of a 250-year leasehold interest in the upper floors of the historic 5-17 Chapel Walks in Manchester city centre, acting on behalf of a private fund. Property crowdfunder The House Crowd Group will create 16 residential apartments in the building.
Founded in 1995, Chancerygate has an annual turnover of £97m and employs 37 people. In addition to its London base, the company also has offices in Warrington, Birmingham and Milton Keynes.
