A substantial 1.08 hectares (2.68 acres) industrial yard in East Kilbride’s College Milton Industrial Estate has been sold for significantly more than the asking price of £280,000 by DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading independent firms of chartered surveyors.
The yard, at 38 Glenburn Road, East Kilbride G74 5BA, is in a highly established industrial area whose near-neighbours include Kone Cranes, Coca-Cola, Scot Beef and Jewson. Access roads to the M77, M74 and M8 are at hand.
East Kilbride is Scotland’s largest town with a population of around 70,000. It lies eight miles south east of Glasgow.
Jacqueline King of DM Hall’s Hamilton office who oversaw the marketing process, said: “the property was brought onto the market last summer and attracted a number of offers. The site’s attraction to buyers lay in its substantial, rectangular shaped and generally level secure attributes as well as its easy access to the main UK-wide motorway network.
“East Kilbride’s popularity as an industrial location is reflected by the fact that there was a really aggressive tussle between bidders right up until the closing date. In the end, the successful bid was significantly higher than the asking price. The transaction completed towards the end of last year.”
