An established window coverings firm has been named as the first occupier at a brand new Birmingham business park, having signed a 15-year pre-let agreement for a manufacturing and distribution centre at the site.
Decora Blinds has committed to a 58,000 sq ft built-to-suit warehouse at Mucklow Park Tyseley, a 19-acre commercial estate being launched in response to the increased demand for bespoke manufacturing facilities at the heart of the country.
Neil Slade of commercial property agents Harris Lamb said construction of the unit was underway with the completed building is expected to be delivered later in 2019.
Neil said: “This is a fantastic deal to kick off interest at the park. Decora is an established brand with a superb reputation, which has always operated from two UK bases; Lisburn in Northern Ireland and Birmingham.
“This commitment to Mucklow Park demonstrates Decora Blinds’ confidence in the region as a crucial manufacturing and logistics hub and reinforces our conviction that there is a demand for bespoke industrial property in the Tyseley region.
“Mucklow’s professional team are now working closely with Decora and the developer has also pledged to complete all warehouses at the site to a high specification to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ status, with occupiers assured a site-wide power capacity of more than 5MVA to best service production facilities,” he said.
The business park offers a number of other design and build opportunities ranging from 30,000 sqft to over 100,000 sqft, access to which will be aided by the new Battery Way Extension, a link road connecting the A41 Warwick Road to Reddings Lane, construction of which is already underway.
Harris Lamb is joint agent for the site alongside JLL.
