Commercial property consultancy Vail Williams LLP has expanded its Solent team with the appointment of associate Tom Bevan.
Tom joined from Gerald Eve, where he worked for eight years at the London headquarters of the international real estate advisory business.
Tom’s new role at Vail Williams includes commercial valuation work on behalf of lenders, including high street banks, and residential development appraisals.
A chartered surveyor and Registered Valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he is now also working in the housing association sector, conducting valuations and providing strategic advice.
Previous experience includes valuation and property taxation in the minerals and waste sectors, advising clients such as Tarmac, Aggregate Industries and Biffa.
Working out of Vail Williams’ Southampton office at Savannah House, Ocean Village, Tom reports directly to Carl Walker, a Vail Williams partner who specialises in commercial property valuation.
Gary Jeffries, managing partner for Vail Williams’ Solent region, said: “Tom’s valuation services extend further than loan security valuation and include valuations for tax purposes, internal reporting and restructuring, periodic and recurring yearly valuations and development valuations, both for single assets and small developments.
“It’s great to have Tom on board in the flourishing Solent region, home to 50,000 businesses – his expertise and insights further enhance our market capabilities for discerning clients.”
Tom, who lives in Winchester and is a keen cyclist, runner and golfer, said: “It is an exciting time to be joining Vail Williams, which is expanding business operations across southern England, and it’s great to be part of a supportive, ambitious team.”
Vail Williams’ latest acquisition is Chertsey-based New Ballerino, a specialist in property acquisitions and disposals, with a niche client base around Surrey and the Home Counties.
Last June saw Solent-based property consultancy Hughes Ellard merge with Vail Williams, which had also acquired the general rating division of Ruddle Merz and business rate specialists Bisset Moffatt Hill in previous years.
Vail Williams’ full-service property advice includes property valuation, planning and lease advice, investment and development expertise, property asset management and occupier consultancy.
