An industrial/warehouse unit at an award-winning farm conversion at the heart of the Blackmore Vale has been snapped up by an electrical, plumbing and heating contractor.
Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of Unit 11 at Chaldicott Barns, Semley to Wiltshire firm QJ Hull Ltd.
Quoting rent for the 3,620 sq ft (336.30 sq m) hi-spec unit was £18,000 per annum with the company signing a 10-year lease.
Myddelton & Major Partner Dean Speer said: “QJ Hull Ltd was founded in 1978 by Quinton Hull, who was fresh out of college, as Q J Hull Electrical and is still run as a family business today.
“The business continued to grow and in 2002 became a limited company and now employs 14 people providing ‘one-stop’ electrical, heating and plumbing services to homes and businesses in and around Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, and Hampshire.
“Chaldicott Barns – a high quality development comprising the total refurbishment of a range of period farm buildings converted to offices and new build industrial – proved to be a perfect fit for the still-expanding company.”
The development at the James family’s 40-acre former farm was awarded rural conversion of the year in 2007 by the Country Landowners Association.
Semley is three miles north of Shaftesbury on the A350 Warminster Road. The A350 links to the A303 four miles the north. Chaldicott Barns is less than half a mile from the A350.
