Vivienne Westwood to arrive in Wales with first standalone store

Iconic designer fashion brand Vivienne Westwood is opening at St David’s, the market leading Cardiff based shopping centre jointly owned by Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) and Land Securities, with its first standalone store for the brand in Wales.

The store, which will comprise 2,585 sq ft of space, will be located at 55-57 The Hayes on Tredegar Street, opposite John Lewis and next to fellow high end retailers LK Bennett and Aveda. It is due to open at the end of September.

John Reid, Managing Director of Zagal, the franchise operator of the store, said: “The colourful history and culture of Cardiff as the capital city of Wales makes it an excellent setting for the avant-garde and exciting fashion designs of Vivienne Westwood.  Our decision to locate within the re-developed city centre and specifically St David’s and The Hayes puts us right at the heart of this vibrant city and its vast numbers of visitors. Our goal is to create a wonderful theatre showcasing all of Vivienne’s collections in the epicentre of Wales and be the destination store for her fans in Wales and the South West.”

Joanne Skilton, Director of Retail and Leasing for CSC, on behalf of the St David’s Partnership said: “St David’s has a fantastic fashion offer and we aim to cater for all tastes and budgets given our 39 million annual footfall. We are delighted to be able to further extend our womenswear offer by confirming the arrival of the iconic Vivienne Westwood brand, adding to our ever growing portfolio of reknowned fashion retailers.”
St David’s is advised by Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield. Zagal, trading as Vivienne Westwood, was self-represented.
