Innes England has completed a letting of industrial premises to enable the expansion of long established family business GP Motors Ltd to Derby city centre.
The relocation sees the business move from Darley Abbey Mills to a prominent site on Mansfield Road in the city, close to the junction with Stores Road.
GP Motors has operated motor vehicle maintenance and repair services in Derby for 30 years. Patrick Weekes from the company said: “The move will greatly benefit our expansion plans as we’ve been limited by the space and access available to us at Darley Mills. The old premises were quite run down with no available inside parking. This had recently begun to cause problems as insurance companies were refusing to use us for repairs.
“The move to Mansfield Road will greatly improve our ability to offer our customers easier access and improved security for their vehicles.”
Innes England acted on behalf of a private landlord agreeing a new lease for the premises, extending to some 5,970 sq ft.
Tim Richardson from Innes England’s Derby office said: “The size, location and layout of the building are all ideal for GP Motors. It gives them high visibility and profile to a busy road network in close proximity to a number of main car dealerships, but is also easily accessible to the city centre, A61, A52 and trunk road connections.”
The deal follows on from the letting earlier this year of the adjoining unit by Innes England to Thrifty Car and Van Rental.
