Rugby-based property developer, Bal Singh, Poonah Investments Ltd has acquired a 5,500 sq ft retail unit built by Loughborough-based contractor and developer, William Davis Ltd on Gerard Road in the town. The retail space will be used to provide local residents with amenities including a grocery and fast food outlet.
Mr Singh commented: “We are in negotiations with food retailer, Budgens and a renowned fast food chain which have shown interest in leasing two of the units. We hope to move quickly with both firms so we can provide local residents with much needed, high quality retail outlets.”
Paul Watkins, project co-ordinator, William Davis added: “We are pleased Mr Singh has purchased the retail units and wish him every success in securing tenants and creating superb new facilities for the neighbourhood.”
William Davis constructed the units as part of Cawston Chase, its award-winning private housing scheme which includes two, three and four bedroom family homes. The company will officially handover the units in June 2012.
