A leading international video games publisher is set to create job opportunities in Herefordshire after moving to a prestigious office development in the area.
Majesco Entertainment, whose best-selling games include Zumba Fitness and Cooking Mama, has headquarters in Edison, New Jersey as well as offices in San Francisco, California and Foxboro, Massachusetts.
The company’s European team, which was previously based in Bristol, recently signed a three-year lease for the 1,561 sq ft Upper Granary suite at Brockhampton in Herefordshire.
The European team oversees the PR, sales, marketing and distribution of the company’s video games across all platforms from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.
Set in the heart of the Brockhampton Estate, the high quality office development, which is marketed by Worcester-based agents Halls Commercial, is just five miles away from the M50. It is also approximately 15 minutes from the historic city of Hereford and the market town of Ross-on-Wye.
Majesco Entertainment chose Brockhampton for its new UK base because the centralised Herefordshire location met its business requirements.
Jason Dutton, managing director international for Majesco Entertainment, said: “As a games company we needed an environment that is self-contained and practical for our day-to-day operations but also fun to work in. Our new office provides us with that and more – high spec facilities within a modern, relaxed and enjoyable rural environment. The flexible space has allowed us to create a functional boardroom and demonstration space to compliment the administrative and executive areas.
“We are currently recruiting for an office manager/assistant to the managing director and will be looking to take on more people to assist with our European operations throughout the year. There is plenty of room in our new office to accommodate a growing team in the future. It is also a space that our staff are proud to work in and invite clients to, which is always a bonus!”
Rob Champion, partner at Halls Commercial, said: “We are pleased to welcome Majesco’s European team to Brockhampton and hope that the business continues to grow as they anticipate over the next 12 months. The government has recently acknowledged the gaming industry as a growing sector so it’s great to hear that Majesco is creating employment opportunities in the local area.”
