Mark Ashfield, director at Coventry and Leamington-based financial experts Harrison Beale and Owen, has taken over as president of the Warwickshire Society of Chartered Accountants.
Ashfield succeeds Daniel Haigh, of Midlands-based business advisors Cooper Parry, in taking over the role at the head of the organisation which is the leading voice of Chartered Accountants in the Warwickshire region.
Ashfield said: “Coventry and Warwickshire has a strong and rapidly expanding financial sector and it is extremely important that Chartered Accountants are well represented in this community.
“I am delighted to have been elected to take on this role and I aim to use my time as president to increase the profile of Chartered Accountants across the region.
“These are challenging times for many, but by working together we can make the journey through the tough financial climate a little bit smoother.
“I would like to thank Dan on behalf of the WSCA for all he contributed during his tenure.”
Ashfield will serve as president of the organisation for the next 12 months.
Haigh said: “I found my time as president very rewarding.
“It enabled me to organise and participate in events for Chartered Accountants in Coventry and Warwickshire, act as a point of contact for the wider Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales community, and interact with future Chartered Accountants in Schools and Universities.
“I am sure Mark will excel in this role. He will have the full support of a great committee that advised and helped me through my year.”
