The Project Management team at JLL in Manchester has secured a multimillion pound contract to manage the refurbishment of multiple Odeon cinemas across Europe.
The project includes the refurbishment of auditoriums, concession stands, restrooms and the installation of bars and new screens in cinemas across the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Nordic countries.
Up to 10 cinemas will be refurbished in the first 12 months of the five-year project.
JLL’s Project Management teams across the European offices will handle the delivery of the works in each region with the overall management of the programme being led by the Manchester team.
Nick Currie, Project Management director at JLL in Manchester, said: “This is a major package of works for one of Europe’s most recognisable cinema brands.
“Our model of combining local teams on the ground with a centralised programme management offering in Manchester, is well suited to this kind of brief where we will deliver multiple projects in tandem, across a wide geography.”
JLL has an 18-strong Project Management team in Manchester. This year it has secured contracts totaling c£100m (5m sq ft) in sectors including retail, industrial, office and logistics.
The European project follows on similar services that JLL has been providing to Odeon’s owner, AMC Theatres, since 2009.
