Three successful professional services firms have moved into a newly refurbished townhouse in one of Edinburgh’s most sought after office locations.
112 George Street, a five storey terraced Georgian building in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre was speculatively refurbished in 2016 by Westerwood Development Company.
Investment firm Pentech Ventures now occupy 885 sq ft on the second floor, its only other office outside of London. Similarly, research and planning specialists David Simmonds Consultancy has also opened its first office outside of England, taking nearly 1000 sq ft of first floor space at 112.
Hospitality staffing company Off to Work has also taken 791 sq ft on the lower ground floor of the building to create its new Scotland office, complementing its five existing UK locations.
Earlier in 2017 property firm Dandara also chose 112 George Street as its first Edinburgh office, expanding to 14 sites across the UK.
112 George Street, totalling 3,955 sq ft of space, is being let on a floor by floor basis. The building is located within Edinburgh’s prime ‘Golden Rectangle’ area – the city’s prime office location focused around George Street and Princes Street, bounded by Charlotte Square to the west and St Andrew Square to the east.
These latest lettings mean that only 557 sq ft remains on the top floor of the building which benefits from spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle.
Geoff Scott, Associate Director at JLL in Scotland said: “112 George Street provides excellent quality accommodation for businesses, it success is a combination of the quality on offer and a very tight market for offices of this size in the city centre. Given its location, it offers occupiers outstanding connectivity, with Waverley and Haymarket Railway Stations just a short walk away, and both the tram and bus station in close proximity, providing a direct connection to and from Edinburgh Airport.”
