It’s time to dust off your superhero suit, because Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People needs all the business heroes it can find.
The charity is encouraging companies in the East Midlands to get involved with Children’s Hospice Week (18-25 May) by doing something heroic on Friday 25 May.
Kate Golding, Corporate Fundraiser for Rainbows, said: “There are many ways businesses can help us; creative types can go to work dressed as superheroes, the more domesticated out there can have a heroic cake sale or there are fundraising ideas on the Children’s Hospice Week page of our website – from a superhero quiz to film nights, there will be something for everyone.”
Sytner BMW in Leicester has already pledged to get involved. Steve Gough, Managing Director at the dealership, said: “We are looking forward to Superhero Friday here at Sytner. Our Sytner Superhero convoy will be travelling around our Midlands dealerships in the new MINI Roadster and the MINI Coupé on Friday 25 May collecting money for Rainbows. We will also be holding internal cake sales for our staff and customers to indulge in. Our final stop will be the Rainbows Children’s Hospice, where we will hand over a giant cheque of all money raised.”
Superhero Friday is at the end of Children’s Hospice Week, which is the UK’s biggest awareness and fundraising week for children’s hospice services. The week is co-ordinated by national charity Together for Short Lives.
Another way to get involved is to take part in the Walk of Life on Sunday 27 May. You can walk five or 15 miles, dressed as your favourite superhero or just come as yourself. For more details visit www.rainbows.co.uk/walkoflife
