The race is on to find the Midlands best family businesses and their leaders as nominations open for the 2012 Midlands Family Business Awards.
Entries can be made free of charge from today, 2nd May, until the 29th June, by visiting the Awards’ website www.familybusinessawards.co.uk.
The not-for-profit Awards, now in their third year, have accounting and business advisory firm Smith Cooper as headline sponsor, and are underwritten by insurance and financial advisory firm The Wilson Organisation, itself a third generation family business. The Awards’ chosen charity for 2012 is The Prince’s Trust.
Unique in the Midlands, The Awards are the only initiative that gives family businesses and their leaders the opportunity to shine and showcase their performance, successes, innovation and growth across ten categories, including the headline Midlands Family Business of the Year Award and a new Manufacturing Excellence category.
Other categories for 2012 are Best Small Family Business (turnover less than £5m for 2011/12), Fastest Growing Family Business, Service Excellence, Business Innovation, Commitment to the Community, Leading Adviser to Family Businesses, Environmental Sustainability, and Outstanding Contribution.
As well as Smith Cooper, Awards’ category sponsors for 2012 are Aviva, Barclays Corporate, Geldards LLP, Harvey Ingram, PwC, Royal Sun Alliance, Thomas Miller Investment & First Actuarial, and Unum.
