Cooke & Arkwright appointed to market commercial space at Centre for Student Life

Leading commercial property agent Cooke & Arkwright has been appointed to market the commercial space for a flagship Centre for Student Life at Cardiff University.

The new Centre for Student Life, proposed for Park Place, is part of a £50m investment in the student experience at the University.

Developed in partnership with the Students’ Union, the Centre will provide a wide range of services to support key elements of student life, transforming the delivery of services to students.

Alongside a state-of-the-art lecture theatre and a range of informal learning spaces, it will also house two prominent commercial outlets, which Cooke & Arkwright will be marketing to potential occupants.
Huw Thomas, director of retail and leisure agency at Cooke & Arkwright, said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed to market the availability of the commercial opportunities within The Centre for Student Life. Cardiff University has embarked on a major project to transform its campus to pave the way for new, state-of-the-art student, teaching and research facilities.

“The new Centre for Student Life is a key part of this project, transforming not just the University but also the city of Cardiff. The location of this building, which will link into the existing Students’ Union, provides the availability of new and modern commercial accommodation within a flagship development and is a unique one off opportunity. Construction of the Centre for Student Life is due to begin later this year with completion and handover of the commercial units to be in 2019.

“Working in conjunction with the vision and strategic advice provided by the catering specialists The Russell Partnership, we’ll be looking to attract established brands with an all-day snacking, food and beverage offering, to service not just students but also the University staff, local businesses and the wider community who use this area during university breaks.”
