Hunter has picked up a prestigious national landscaping award for its Exchange Quay (EQ) Salford Quays development. The landmark office scheme has been named Principle Award Winner at the 2016 BALI National Landscape Awards, in the Hard Landscaping Construction (Non-Domestic) – Construction cost over £1.5 million category.
The annual Awards were first introduced in 1976 to recognise British Association of Landscape Industry members who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill in the execution of a wide variety of landscape schemes.
The Landscape Group idverde was appointed by Hunter to undertake the redevelopment of the existing external landscape to Exchange Quay. Working in close partnership with the lead architect Planit-IE, a detailed and extensive overhaul of the existing landscape environment was carried out as part of the wider revitalisation of Exchange Quay.
Jeremy Birkett-Jones, investment director at Hunter, said;
“We are delighted and proud to become a Principle Award Winner in the Large Commercial Category at the 2016 BALI National Landscape Awards. The awards represent the pinnacle of professional achievement for BALI members and are widely recognised across the UK and abroad. The accolade is a great result to end a very successful year for Exchange Quay, which outperformed competition to secure a spectacular sixty-four per cent of the space transacted in the Salford Quays office market in 2016.”
Exchange Quay’s six office buildings range from 26,151 sq ft to 116,684 sq ft. The development is strategically located just off Trafford Road which links Salford Quays to both Manchester City Centre and the major motorway networks via the M602.
Exchange Quay office agents are Savills and Canning O’Neill.
