Sussex-based commercial property agents Michael Jones report that three industrial units at the Hambridge Trading Estate in Worthing have recently been snapped up by local businesses, as the high demand for units continues along the south coast.
Relocation for Bunces Home Hardware
Hardware store Bunces, which has been established in Sussex for more than 85 years, has taken 5000 sq ft of warehouse space following the relocation and sale of their headquarters in Chapel Road. Our commercial team was instrumental in the move, by advising the buyers of the former site, and also negotiating the new lease terms at Hambridge on behalf of their new landlord.
Bunces have a new retail shop in Portland Road, Worthing, as well as five other stores across Sussex. The move demonstrates Bunces growth within their ‘trade’ customer division. David Bunce, co-director commented: “The support and assistance we received from Michael Jones has been an invaluable help in what has been a major change to the business.”
Welcoming Orelia Jewellery to Worthing
Orelia Jewellery of Hove has moved its distribution centre having secured lease terms on 2800 sq ft. Although primarily an online retailer, Orelia has concessions within Topshop, and they also stock jewellery in stores including Next, ASOS, Lipsy and Harrods. The team sources products from around the world and they are proud of their south coast roots. The company is owned by two directors, Louisa and Collette, who both live locally in Sussex. They decided to relocate their offices to Worthing following several years in Hove, and previously London.
New premises aid the expansion of Ian Hart Funeral Services
Ian Hart Funeral Services of Worthing has taken a 1000 sq ft unit on the estate to enable the business to increase their vehicle fleet. Ian Hart has grown rapidly in recent years, having originated from one of the oldest funeral directing families, A J Pratley.
A busy year end as 2016 draws to a close
These recent moves have come at the end of what has been a busy year for our commercial team. Steve Berrett, commercial director said: “It’s been another terrific year for the commercial team. Whilst politically 2016 has been like no other, we have seen sales and lettings continue as normal. We have noticed a surge of offers and deals in recent weeks, with many investors and buyers looking to secure commercial property before the year is out”.
